Today is the first day of my 100 Days of Practice challenge. Popularized by violinist Hilary Hahn, this challenge calls for 100 consecutive days of practice. While I usually practice regularly just to keep on top of repertoire that I have to perform, I don’t always strive to practice every single day. I’ve set a goal of learning more solo repertoire this year, so #100daysofpractice seems like a great way to start. Occasionally I’ll try an post a recording, but I’ll mainly use this space to stay accountable, to track my progress and record any stray thoughts or observations that may come up.
Day 1
- Sight reading RCM 8 Etudes
- Lied in E Flat by Fanny Mendelssohn: recorded bars 25-41 as part of a Bulletproof Musician mini-lesson.
- Trees in the Wind by Christine Donkin: first section HS & HT, just getting a feel for things to start off.
- Etude Op. 10 #9 by Chopin: Up to bar 16 HT.
